Bundaberg State High School is one of the oldest state high schools in Queensland, having opened its doors in 1912 on the banks of the Burnett River. The school’s motto is ‘per ardua ad astra’, which loosely translates as ‘through hard work, the stars’, and this set of values informs the expectations of all at BSHS.

Canley Vale State High School have developed teaching and learning programs to suit their local context and the needs of their students. As the newest secondary school in its region, Catherine McAuley Catholic College, Medowie is a learning faith community in the Mercy tradition. Commencing with Years 7 and 8 in 2021, the College will grow by 2025 to support young people through to Year 12.

Gulgong High School is a comprehensive high school located in a diverse rural setting and has a focus of ‘Quality Teaching and Learning in a Safe, Caring Environment’. Students are drawn from the immediate rural and urban surroundings and from various walks of life.
The school caters for individual differences by creating a wide choice of curriculum that is both academic and vocationally based. A range of one year, two year and vertically-integrated curriculum structures in the junior school is on offer, to allow a great deal of flexibility and choice that encourages engagement of students in learning.

Lightning Ridge Central School is providing education to around 400 students in the vibrant Opal mining centre of Lightning Ridge.
Approximately 44% of the school’s students identified as being of Aboriginal descent, with more than 28 nationalities being represented across the school.
Students come from families mainly involved in the opal mining, tourism or agricultural industries. Some students live in the township of Lightning Ridge, however approximately 2/3 live on mining camps or on rural properties.
Students and their families have a rich variety of backgrounds, all of which contribute to the diversity of this exciting northwestern town.
The school is focused on providing positive, safe and respectful learning environments for its students through a strongly embedded Positive Behaviour for Learning program, an effective and responsive curriculum, effective quality teaching and community support.

Lomandra School is a NSW Department of Education and Communities Special School for students with severe challenging behaviours and/or mental health issues. With 70 students Years 5-12, it is the largest school of its kind in NSW.
The school values academic achievement and sets high expectations for all students to extend their abilities in numeracy and literacy. Daily, they are engaged in challenging learning experiences.
Nambucca Heads High School is the only public secondary school in Nambucca Heads. The school partners with Nambucca Heads Public School and Frank Partridge VC Public School. Woolgoolga High School is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school on the Mid North Coast.
Established in 1981 as Woolgoolga Central School, Woolgoolga High School enrolled approximately 810 students in 2020 of whom fourteen percent identified as Indigenous Australians and thirteen percent from a language background other than English.
